This window enables you to create a synchronization link between corresponding lines in two files. A synchronization link specifies a point of similarity between two files. Merge will rearrange the results of a file comparison to ensure that the comparison is synchronized at these links.
Although you can create synchronization links that cross over one-another, such synchronization links will be highlighted in red and will be ignored. Once created, you can reposition synchronization links by dragging the arrow-heads on the synchronization lines up and down with the mouse.
Left line number
Enter the line number at which the synchronization link should appear in the left file. The synchronization link is created after the line number, so enter 0
if you want the synchronization link to appear at the start of the file. If you want the synchronization link to appear at the end of the file, enter the last line number that you can see in the file.
Right line number
Enter the line number at which the synchronization link should appear in the right file. The synchronization link is created after the line number, so enter 0
if you want the synchronization link to appear at the start of the file. If you want the synchronization link to appear at the end of the file, enter the last line number that you can see in the file.
